Recently, I embarked on an exhilarating trip to the Florida Keys with my son Anton and his friend Nick. This wasn’t just a vacation; it was an opportunity for some much-needed family bonding during February break. After some intense discussions and planning, we settled on the Florida Keys as our destination. Our home for two nights was the charming Coconut Palm Inn in Key Largo, a quaint bayside hotel with an array of delightful surprises waiting for us.

The hotel’s complimentary breakfast muffins, kayaks, fishing gear, and even s’mores nights created an informal summer camp atmosphere that my son and his friend absolutely loved. Checking In at Isla Bella
Our next destination was Isla Bella, a more upscale hotel featuring lavish amenities and multiple pools. Although I enjoyed the beachfront and the variety of activities offered, I encountered some minor issues with our booking that soured my experience slightly. Still, watching the boys play football in the pool made it worth it. We also befriended a family visiting from Dublin, which adds a uniquely international flair to our travels.
Special Touches That Made Our Trip Memorable
Our final leg of the trip included a delightful drive back to the airport, where we stopped at a drive-thru that promised the world’s longest French fry! Little moments like these turned our trip into a series of memorable experiences, reflecting the beauty of traveling as a family.
